Friends Beyond Boston – Waltham Social (20s–40s) is a local community built around genuine connection, small events, and welcoming spaces where people can actually get to know each other.

Coffee Social at the Café: Connect with Local Friends

Description:&nbsp;
In this 2 session class, taking place two consecutive Sundays, students will learn to make an approximate 8"x 9" size panel using the copper foil method of stained glass. There will be several patterns to choose from or they may design one of their own which needs to be approved by the instructor prior to the start date. They will choose from lots of beautiful stained glass for their design. Students will cut, grind, foil wrap, solder, patina and finish their panels with a zinc frame. Hanging rings will be added so the panels will be ready to hang up in their homes.

-This class takes place on April 19th and April 26th.

Rose Kennedy Greenway

Join the Rose Art Museum for a special screening of the acclaimed 2019 documentary Queen of Hearts: Audrey Flack, an intimate and illuminating portrait of one of the most dynamic and uncompromising artists of the 20th century. The film offers a rare opportunity to hear directly from Flack as she reflects on her groundbreaking career, her fierce independence, and her role in shaping Photorealist painting on her own terms.
Before the screening, guests are warmly encouraged to take part in a docent-led tour of <a href="https://www.brandeis.edu/rose/exhibitions/2026/photorealism.html" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Photorealism in Focus</a>, which features two of Flack’s striking paintings: Family Portrait (Farb Family Portrait) (1969–1970) and Shiva Blue (1972–1973). The exhibition brings together pioneering and contemporary artists who explore the relationship between painting and photography, inviting us to reconsider realism, perception, and the stories artists choose to tell. The tour offers valuable context for the film and a deeper understanding of Flack’s bold vision within the movement.
