On Wednesday, October 21 at 6:30 pm, Gore Place will offer a special Halloween Season screening of the PBS documentary Murder at Harvard, about the 1849 trial of Harvard professor John White Webster, who was accused of murdering Dr. George Parkman, a member of one of Boston's most prominent families. Webster's trial drew thousands of spectators and filled newspaper columns. Join us for a spine-tingling evening of history and mystery as we revisit this fascinating and notorious case.
Eric Stange, director, co-producer, and co-writer, is a Boston-based documentary filmmaker specializing in cultural and social history. Melissa Banta, co-producer and co-writer, is an author and long-time curator at Harvard University and Mount Auburn Cemetery.
