Fernald Use Committee Walks Reuse Waltham Massachusetts

Dear Waltham Residents,
The Ad-Hoc Fernald Use Committee, chaired by Ward 4
Councillor McLaughlin, is sponsoring 2 informational walks at the
196-acre Fernald parcel. Meet at the parking lot located at 200 Trapelo Road. The dates/times of the walks are as follows:
- Thursday 11/16 @10am
- Saturday 11/18 @9am

The public is invited and encouraged to attend. Sign-in is required. No buildings will be entered.
We will walk this very beautiful and historic site and talk about its history and potential re-uses.

to see resolutions submitted concerning potential reuses of the Fernald
site. To date 2 resolutions have been approved by the Waltham City
Council:
1. Extension of the Western Greenway through the western portion of
the Fernald site (connecting the MetState to the UMASS Field Station).

2. Restoration of the previously filled in pond and wetlands in the
northwest quadrant of the Fernald (where the cottages are located) for
the purposes of flood mitigation on Waverley Oaks and Linden streets as
well as creation of a publicly accessible winter skating pond. Read more
