Fire At Waltham Burger King Closes Restaurant
No word on how long it will take for Burger King to reopen after a grease fire Tuesday.

WALTHAM, MA — A grease fire in the duct above the broiler area shut Burger King on Moody Street down Tuesday afternoon, as firefighters came to fight the fire.
"It was knocked down pretty quick," said Lt. Scott Perry of the Waltham Fire Department. But officials stayed on scene to make sure it was all clear. So if you saw Ladder Truck 2 and Waltham Engine 1 at the fast food joint until 2 p.m., that's what was going on.
"With grease fires you don't know what's going to come up out of there," he said.

The call came in around 12:20 p.m., reporting smoke in the restaurant, when fire officials arrived smoke was billowing out of the roof as well as inside.
Officials shut the gas and the electric off, and firefighters were able to keep the fire to the duct work, according to Perry. But because this is a restaurant, the Waltham Board of Health had to come check out the restaurant and give instruction on just what the restaurant has to throw out because of smoke and contamination.

All the commotion also caused a bit of a traffic slow down near the restaurant and police came out to direct traffic at the corner of Crescent and Moody streets, said Perry.
