Have a Blast at Waltham Riverfest 2016!
Come to the Charles River at Moody Street on Friday, June 17, and Saturday, June 18, to celebrate Waltham's nature, music, art and culture!
Bring family and friends to the 8th Annual Waltham Riverfest, happening June 17 and 18 at the Charles River and Moody Street bridge! Charles River Canoe and Kayak will be offering discounted watercraft rentals both days and a guided moonlit paddle both nights. Sign up with them before these special three-hour tours with snacks are sold out!
Live bands will play Friday night between 5:15 and 8 pm on the stage by Margaritas.
The Waltham Land Trust kicks off Saturday’s activities with an easy stroll along the Charles from the Moody Street Dam downstream to wildlife viewing platforms east of Newton Street and back. Meet at 10 am at the fish ladder in Landry Park. We’ll discuss the history of river, look for signs of wildlife, and return in time for the Parade and Opening Ceremonies at 11:45 am.
All day long, festival attendees can soak up live music on four stages, observe artists painting along the river and installing a community-made mural at 200-210 Moody, buy crafts from vendors on a mostly-closed Moody Street Bridge, visit with local non-profit groups, eat food from a variety of food trucks, and enjoy lots of kids activities including a circus with aerialists! Music will last until 6:15 pm on Saturday (at the Margaritas stage).
Details are on the Riverfest website. Brought to you by the Waltham Downtown Partnership and the Waltham Tourism Council, with support from the Waltham Land Trust and other sponsors and volunteers.
