Hi Diane,
In conformity with Laura's opinion, its imperative that we approve a Resolution Monday night BEFORE we vote to deny the taking, to protect our interests in declaring the Stigmatine parcel for a public purpose.
Robert's Resolution seeks further action by the Council - to negotiate the purchase for open space. It would be best if we had a Resolution prepared for approval Monday specifically affirming our interest as a City in the preservation of the Stigmatine parcel for open space which fulfills a valid public purpose, etc...
The second Resolution (Rober's is fine) can invite negotiations with the Stigs to acquire the parcel, and this can be sent to COW for future action.
Finally, our vote to deny should only be for the purpose of putting a school at the Stig,, the denial should be specific so as not to infer that we are denying the taking for another public purpose.
Thanks. g
