LOCAL PAIR WINS BRIDGE TOURNAMENT

Amnon Gabay and Robert Gervis of Newton recently finished first at the Eastern Mass. Bridge Association (EMBA) Sectional tournament. They each won an Open Pairs event at the Fall Sectional held in Barnstable.

EMBA’s next tournament is Dec. 11-13 at the Armenian Cultural Center, 47 Nichols Ave., Watertown. Players will compete at all levels, from beginner to expert.

The tournament begins 7:30 Friday. Other sessions are Saturday at 10:30 and 3:15, and Sunday at 10:30.

Games last about 3 1/2 hours, and players may compete in one or more events for trophies and other prizes. The tournament features free refreshments.
