Magical powers

When I took on the role of PTO President, I spent some time looking at the jobs on the Board of Directors. Unlike our treasurer and assistant treasurer, who keep us out of jail; and unlike our corresponding and recording secretaries, who are responsible for communication and vote-counting and attendance-taking; or our vice presidents, who take on the bulk of coordination for  fund-raising and events and our enrichment programs, the role of the president is one sentence that states: "The president presides at meetings.". Well, sheesh, I thought, I can preside with the best of them, and so I accepted my nomination.

In addition to presiding, I realized that, apparently, I am supposed to have magical powers. Sadly, I have not yet figured out how to use them. Smart, competent, wonderful parents ask me questions to which I do not know the answers and ask me to do things that I have no idea how to do. I can only imagine that I have left many Fitz parents very, very disappointed and I am tasking myself with finding out how to use the magic powers during my second term. I am, of course, grateul to the Fitzgerald parents for their patience.
Now if I can just find that magic wand...
