Meeting Scheduled To Discuss Help For Domestic Violence Victims

Meeting scheduled for 7 p.m.

A public meeting will be held tomorrow to discuss helping victims of deomstic violence and sexual assault with keeping jobs.

The meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, May 8 at 7 p.m. at the , will discuss a proposed law that would give 15 days of unpaid personal leave to domestic violence victims to give them time to make plans for their personal safety, according to REACH Beyond Domestic Violence.

REACH, a Waltham-based organzation that assists domestic violence victims, is sponsoring the meeting.

The bill is also intended to give victims time to seek assistance. Similar laws are currently on the books in the 30 other states, according to REACH.

State Rep. Thomas Stanley, D-Waltham and Jane Doe Inc. will be attending the meeting.
