Paul Tracey Waltham Funeral: Schools Closed Friday, Livestream
The funeral and procession for Paul Tracey, the Waltham officer killed last week, will take over the city on Friday. Here's what to know.
WALTHAM, MA — It's been a tragic week in Waltham, starting with the death of police officer Paul Tracey and National Grid employee Roderick Jackson at a worksite on Totten Pond Road.
Now, Waltham is preparing for the funeral and procession for Tracey, which will take over the city on Friday and allow the public to attend a wake on Thursday.
This will seriously impact traffic, and police have urged residents to make adjustments to account for the services.

"As we prepare to honor fallen Officer Paul Tracey at his wake and funeral, we want the public to know the magnitude of the impact this will have on local traffic," police said.
"If the option to work remotely exists, it is strongly encouraged. Non-essential travel in Waltham should be avoided."

A wake is scheduled for Thursday at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Parish, 920 Trapelo Rd., in Waltham. Public hours are 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
A Friday funeral will also be held at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Parish, beginning at 10 a.m. The burial will take place following the funeral at Mt. Feake Cemetery, 203 Prospect St., in Waltham.
Parking for both services for the public will be at the 1601 Trapelo Rd. office park and the Kennedy Middle School with shuttle service. Parking is limited, and police said to carpool if possible.

Processions and Road Closures
On Friday, Trapelo Road will be closed from Lexington Strett to Forest Street from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be limited access to the Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Parish church, police said.
Here are the procession routes and times from the Waltham Police Department:
Thursday at 12 p.m. beginning at Brasco Funeral Home on Moody Street to Main Street, Lyman Street, Beaver Street, Forest Street to Trapelo Radd to the church.
Friday at approximately 9:30 a.m., beginning at Brasco Funeral Home to Moody Street to Main Street, Lyman Street, Beaver Street, Forest Street to Trapelo Road to the church.
The procession will begin after the funeral. An exact start time is undetermined due to the large size of the service, police said.
The route from the church will be Trapelo Road to Forest Street, Beaver Street, Lexington Street (passing the police station), Main Street, Moody Street, Maple Street and Prospect Street to Mt. Feake Cemetery.
Schools
Waltham Public Schools will be closed on Friday, as will all district buildings, officials told Patch this week.
Our Lady’s Academy will also be closed.

Donations
According to Waltham police, Cambridge Savings Bank has set up an account for those looking to donate to Paul Tracey's family. The Cambridge Savings Bank has a corporate office located at 81 Wyman Street in Waltham.

Checks can be made payable to the “Paul Tracey Family.” They may also be dropped off at the Waltham Police Department, 155 Lexington St., Waltham.
Roderick Jackson
The family of Roderick "Kito" Jackson, the National Grid employee killed in a crash at a Waltham worksite last week, will host a visitation over the weekend.
This visitation will be held at St. Paul AME at 37 Bishop Allen Dr. in Cambridge, according to the family's attorney.
From 9 to 11 a.m., the family will host visitation hours with the funeral service following at 11 a.m.
"The Jackson family will open these services to the public for anyone who would like to pay their respects," the attorney said.
