Waltham Man Struck, Killed on Forest Street

The driver of the vehicle was arrested after the crash.

An 82-year-old Waltham man was struck and killed at about 11:15 a.m. Wednesday on Forest Street in Waltham, near Harrington Road and Rosewood Drive, by a driver allegedly under the influence of drugs, according to Waltham Police.

The victim, Dorazil Vitezslav, was transported via Medflight helicopter to Boston Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, according to WCVB.

According to police, the driver, 33-year-old James Keating, of 196 Worcester Lane, Waltham, was arrested after the crash and charged with motor vehicle homicide, operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and improper operation of a motor vehicle. He was driving a 2013 Ford Focus, and the victim struck the passenger side of his front windshield, police said.
