Loose Moose Killed in Weston: Reports

Weston, MA  – A moose that became a viral sensation after she was caught on camera cavorting through the greater Boston area is reportedly the same one that was struck by a car and killed in Weston Tuesday night. 

According to the Boston Globe, Environmental Police put the animal down after it was hit by a car traveling north on River Road toward Waltham.

The Weston Fire Department reported no civilian injuries following the collision in a tweet Tuesday night.

Officials on Tuesday could not confirm if the moose was the same one sighted in Watertown and Belmont, and later reported in Lexington and Waltham, earlier this month. 

But according to a post on Belmont Animal Control's Facebook page, it was the same moose that eluded capture by environmental officials for weeks.
