SteveSongs Concert to Benefit Acton Barn Cooperative Nursery School

Join us for a rockin' concert with PBS Kids' musician Mr. Steve on November 21st in Acton!

Please join us for a rockin’ concert with PBS Kids’ musician Mr. Steve on November 21st at 11 AM! Steve will be joined by beat boxer David Stackhouse and Chris Listorti on the electric guitar, keyboard and vocals. Kids are sure to be up and dancing during the show, and Steve’s music is entertaining, educational, and imaginative. This is a concert that you don’t want to miss. As one young fan said, Steve’s shows are “more fun than recess!”

Steve Roslonek of SteveSongs has been writing/performing award-winning music for families for over ten years. A rising star on the national kids music scene, Steve blends smart lyrics, catchy melodies and thoughtful messages into fun participatory songs that kids love and adults find irresistible. He has delighted audiences coast to coast with his engaging and entertaining shows, including at the White House, the Kennedy Center, and Boston’s Fenway Park. Steve has earned numerous awards, including 2 Parents’ Choice Gold Awards, a NAPPA Honor, an iParenting Media Award, and a Children’s Music Web Award. He has 5 full-length CDs, a DVD and two volumes of music from his role as Mr. Steve on PBS KIDS. In May 2008, Steve took on an exciting new role on national TV as “Mr. Steve,” co-host of the PBS KIDS morning block featuring favorites such as Curious George, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Super Why and Martha Speaks.

Last year, Steve posted this on his Facebook page, “I’m sure you’ll be as impressed as I am with the kindness of the cool folks at the Acton Barn. Last year, they developed a ticket donation program where families from their school purchased and donated tickets to the SteveSongs show. The school made connections with several local agencies within the community and distributed those tickets to those who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford to attend. This allowed 50 people to come to our show and experience live performance, (which I am a HUGE believer in). The school received several thank you notes and plans to replicate the program for the (November 21st) show. What a wonderful example they are setting -- especially at this time of year. Kudos Acton Barn!”

The concert will be held at The Parker Damon Building, 11 Charter Road, in Acton, off Rt. 111. The show begins at 11:00 am.

Sorrento’s Pizza will be available for sale after the show, along with many baked goods.

Tickets are $13 in advance or $16 at the door (children under 1 are free). Purchase your tickets at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2413921or at Buttons and Bows Consignment Boutique in Acton.
