Talking Information Center (TIC), an award-winning reading service broadcasting to thousands of visually impaired and otherwise print impaired listeners throughout the state, will air their holiday production of "Miracle on 34th Street" on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 7 p.m.
Tune in as TIC's Radio and Podcast Players broadcast a special production of the popular Christmas classic, "Miracle on 34th Street", where an elderly gentleman named Kris Kringle serves as a department store Santa Claus and claims he is the real Santa - leading to confusion, a court case and a surprise ending.
The play will be performed in front of a live studio audience at TIC's Marshfield studio. The Radio and Podcast Players cast includes Marshfield residents Steve Virta as Kris Kringle, Jack Garrity as Fred Gailey, Bill Zirpolo as RH Macy, and George Krein as Alfred, Mara, and the Judge, while Eric Joseph is announcer and host. Kingston resident Karen Hayes plays Doris Walker, and Bridget Hindle (also of Kingston) plays Mother, Mrs. Mara, and Tommy. Caroline Bacon of Cohasset stars as Susan, Girl, Miss Prong, and Mortimer. Grant Baxter of Pembroke plays Shellhammer, Gimbel, and Dr. Pierce. Bob Churchill of Plymouth plays Sawyer and Charley.
Eric Joseph, Executive Director of The Bay Colony Shakespeare Company (BCSC) and John Shea of TIC are the play's producers. The Radio and Podcast Players are a group of local TIC volunteers who auditioned for parts. Through these productions, TIC brings live theater to those who might not have access to it otherwise due to accessibility, transportation or financial issues, while also entertaining their audience of over 30,000 listeners with fresh and exciting content.
