Traffic Watch: Plan Ahead Street Paving Could Cause Delays

Roadwork has been pushed back one day. Look for detour signs or other routes Tuesday through Thursday.

WALTHAM, MA — Due to the expected storm Monday night, Waltham Public Works announced it was pushing the Lexington Street Paving schedule back a day.

The DPW's paving of Lexington Street will now start Tuesday evening just in time for the evening commute and will continue Wednesday, and Thursday.

The City of Waltham's DPW encourage travelers to use caution and seek alternate routes if possible.

The schedule is as follows:

- Tuesday, June 20th, 8pm - 5am: Public Works will be paving the Southbound Lane from 1000 Lexington St. to Lincoln St.

- Wednesday, June 21st, 8pm - 5am: Public Works will be paving the Center lane from 1000 Lexington St. to Lincoln St.

- Thursday, June 22nd, 8pm - 5am: Public Works will be paving the Northbound lane from 1000 Lexington St. to Lincoln St.

Two lanes of traffic will be open at all times, one in each direction. There will be limited driveway access for residents and businesses from when the pavement gets put down until it cools to the proper temperature. Residents that need to get out between those hours should move their cars ahead of time. Emergency vehicles will always be granted access.
