Visiting the Past in Greater Boston: Reflections of a Historic House Devotee

A talk by Elizabeth S. Levy Merrick, Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at Stonehurst the Robert Treat Paine Estate, Free and open to the public.

In her talk, Elizabeth S. Levy Merrick, author of Being There Then: A Guide to Exploring Boston’s Historic House Museums, will discuss themes and challenges of house museums, informed by her extensive visitation to houses of Greater Boston. Highlighted among several local house museums will be the site of the talk, Stonehurst, the Robert Treat Paine Estate, owned by the City of Waltham. Cohosted by the Waltham Historical Society, Friends of Stonehurst and the City of Waltham.
