Waltham Chamber Hosting Candidates Night
Voters will have the opportunity to meet candidates in the city's mayoral, city council and school committee races later this month.
WALTHAM, MA — The city's election field is set for 2023 following a September primary.
With the elections set for Nov. 7, that means October will be used for candidates to continue campaigning, which includes a meet the candidates night later this month.
The Waltham Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Waltham Partnership are hosting an event on Oct. 25 that will include an "informal meet and greet" with candidates for mayor, city council and school committee.

After the city's preliminary election, it was determined that Ward 9 Councilor Jonathan Paz and incumbent Mayor Jeannette McCarthy will face each other in the city's general election for mayor.
Voters in the preliminary were tasked with narrowing the field for mayor to two candidates, Ward 3 councilor to two candidates and councilor-at-large to 12 candidates.

McCarthy and Paz topped Duane Champagne Sr. by a wide margin, with McCarthy garnering the most votes.
William Hanley and Paul Tracey will be the candidates running for election in Ward 3 after tonight's elections, and Susan Rosenfelder was the odd candidate out in the field of at-large councilors to move forward.
The Oct. 25 event is scheduled for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Tempo, 474 Moody St. It is free to attend, but registration is required. To register, click here.
