Waltham Kid Headed To National Spelling Bee

A Waltham student is heading to a national spelling bee!

Pranav Nagalamadaka is headed to the national competition of the North South Foundation Spelling Bee on Aug. 18 - 19 at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, according to a press release.

Nagalamadaka recently won first prize in the regional’s held in Cambridge, which qualified him for the national compeititon. 

NSF is a non-profit volunteer organization that promotes “excellence in human endeavours” by holding events for Americans of Indian descent. Proceeds from their events are used for scholarships for needy students in India wanting to go to college.
