On August 10, police responded to a double stabbing on Weston Street. Inside, they found a 52-year-old woman who had been stabbed 31 times and an 82-year-old woman who had suffered a laceration to her hand while attempting to intervene.
Authorities said Louis went to the Weston Street home to visit estranged family members who were staying there with the victims. After the stabbings, Louis left messages for the other family members saying the attack on the 52-year-old was to "teach her a lesson," according to the Middlesex County District Attorney's office.

Louis was arrested near a train station shortly after the attack; he told police he stabbed the woman because she was "trying to break up his family," the DA's office said.
