Waltham Man Who Raped 2 Girls In PA Sentenced To Decades In Prison
An elderly Waltham man was convicted of raping two girls in 2022. His sentence ranges from 30 to 60 years.
WALTHAM, MA — An elderly Waltham man will all but certainly serve the rest of his life in prison after he was sentenced at least three decades in prison for the rape of two girls in Pennsylvania.
Thomas Rosenthal, 86, was convicted last week to the rape of two children in August 2022. The sentence carries between 30 to 60 years in state prison.
Rosenthal pleaded guilty in May to two counts each of rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, aggravated indecent assault of a child, statutory sexual assault, sexual assault, corruption of minors, indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age, and indecent exposure and one count of harassment.

The investigation began on Aug. 31, 2022, when the Dublin Borough Police Department received a report that Rosenthal had sexually assaulted two girls, ages 5 and 8.
The investigation found that the victims had been sexually assaulted by Rosenthal several times between Aug. 20, 2022, and Aug. 28, 2022, when he was visiting from Massachusetts. Rosenthal threatened the victims not to tell anyone after committing the crimes, an investigation found.

The two children wrote impact statements that were read in court by other family members prior to Rosenthal's sentencing. Their parents also spoke about the trauma Rosenthal has caused on their daughters and family.
“This has taken off precious time off their happy childhood memories in what should have been magical years,” their mother said.
