Waltham Native To Make Super Bowl Flyover History
Lt. Jacqueline Drew, a Waltham native, is a part of the first all-women crew in Super Bowl flyover history.

GLENDALE, AZ — The Super Bowl flyover is, at this point, a part of the tradition of the game. For the first time ever, that flyover will be piloted by an all-women crew, including a native of Waltham.
Lt. Jacqueline Drew will pilot one of the planes flying over State Farm Stadium on Sunday. According to the U.S. Navy, the historic moment will honor 50 years of women in naval aviation.
In 1973 the first eight women began flight school in Pensacola, Fla., and one year later six of those eight women, titled "The First Six,” earned their Wings of Gold. Since then, women have served, operated and led at every level of Naval Aviation, the Navy said.
