Waltham Police Captain Graduates From FBI National Academy
Fewer than one percent of police officers nationally have the chance to attend the program, according to officials.

WALTHAM, MA — A Waltham police captain just reached an achievement that only two others in the history of the department have done.
Captain Jeffrey Rodley graduated as a member of the 286th session of the FBI National Academy on June 8.
Rodley is only the 3rd officer in department history to complete the program. Nationally, fewer than one percent of officers have the opportunity to attend the program, Waltham police officials said.

"Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy offers ten weeks of advanced communication, leadership, and fitness training," officials said of the program.
"Participants must have proven records as professionals within their agencies to attend. On average, these officers have 21 years of law enforcement experience and usually return to their agencies to serve in executive-level positions."

The 286th session consisted of 238 law enforcement officers from 47 states and the District of Columbia. The class included members of law enforcement agencies from 25 countries, five military organizations, and six federal civilian organizations.
