One neighbor told Fox 25 that the couple often fought, and when police arrived, Batista would tell police that her boyfriend wasn’t the man who hit her. He said it happened “over and over.” Animal control also responded to the scene.
Batista’s daughter spoke on camera to WCVB-TV, and commented, “She’s been living with an abusive man who beats her all the time, and I just knew one day this was going to happen.” Her mom said that she never filed a restraining order.
