Waltham's Moody Street Businesses Can Now Apply For Outdoor Dining Permits

Outdoor dining and retail will be returning to Moody Street this summer, and businesses can apply for their permits now.

Permit Applications are now available for Moody Street businesses to request use of the parking lane in front of their business for outdoor dining/retail this season!

Permits are available for businesses along Moody Street (between Pine St and High St) who are requesting to use the parking lane in front of their business May 25th to September 25th, 2023 for outdoor dining/retail. In case you missed it, here are some key summary points from the Traffic Commission’s meeting Regarding Moody St:

  • Per the Traffic Commission’s final decision yesterday, Moody Street will be OPEN to regular 2-way vehicular traffic from Monday at 5am – through Thursday at 4pm, May 25th to September 25th, 2023.
  • Moody Street will be CLOSED to vehicular traffic and open for outdoor dining & retail from Thursday at 4pm, through Monday at 5am, May 25th to September 25th, 2023. Outdoor dining & retail will be offered during this time frame ONLY. Any Moody Street business wanting to use the parking space(s) in front of their business for outdoor dining or retail are advised to complete the attached permit application.
  • Businesses will NOT need to break down outdoor set ups every week. Set ups can remain in a barrier enclosure in the parking space(s) in front of their business.
  • Waltham Public Works & Waltham Police will be in charge of closing/opening Moody Street Mondays at 5am and Thursdays at 4pm.
  • Area residents will have access to side streets
