Why I'm running citywide for Waltham City Council

As an accomplished public speaker, I'm looking to use my communication skills to foster collaboration.

Dear Waltham Residents,

For the last 11 years my family and I have called Waltham home. I was first drawn to the vibrant, local shops on Moody St. and the cultural diversity. As I became more involved in the community by volunteering with WCAC-TV Waltham Community Access, Mothers Out Front, and Progressive Waltham, I connected with people that share my passion for the continued success of this city. That is why I’m campaigning to be your next city councilor at-large.

Two years ago I managed Kelly Damm’s campaign in the Ward 4 neighborhood of Waltham. I learned how to build a grassroots campaign and studied the issues. More importantly, I knocked on doors and listened to hundreds of residents.

In March of this year, I spoke at a city council meeting on behalf of an initiative that allows residents to save money on their electric bill, while investing in clean energy. It was a great feeling to be able to use my public speaking and leadership skills to advocate for Waltham’s citizens. I’m ready to listen to your ideas and concerns as this city continues to evolve.

Throughout my career holding strategic roles in media, including broadcast, corporate, educational, and marketing video production and project management. I’ve proven I can communicate effectively; and manage projects, people, and budgets. Part of my career has also focused on marketing innovative and entrepreneurial businesses, including many here in Waltham.

Waltham has been an innovative city since its founding. We have done well to preserve our open space. I’d like to see those efforts move to the next level through a thoughtful, transparent, and public approach. We should be designing spaces that are inclusive and artistically vibrant.

In closing, I bring positive energy and a fresh voice to the council. Please consider voting for me on November 5th. Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Colleen Bradley-MacArthur
