2 Taken to Hospital After Overdosing on Cocaine at Super 8 Motel

Emergency personnel were called to the motel when the went unconscious after ingesting cocaine.

A man and a woman had to be taken to hospital after an apparent drug overdose and they will face drug charges.

Emergency personnel were called to the motel on July 7 at 12:57 a.m. for two people who lost consciousness, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.

"A third individual said both ingested cocaine and went unconscious," Lawn said. "Both were transported to Mt. Auburn Hospital."

The two will face charges, Lawn said. A 47-year-old Somerville man faces charges of possession to distribute a Class B drug, and a 29-year-old-woman from Parkersburg, W.Va., faces a charge of possession of cocaine, Lawn said.
