22-Year Old Watertown Man Arrested on OUI Charge After Hitting a Car on Watertown Street
When the driver's SUV hit the parked car, it sent it flying 100 feet down the street.

A Watertown man faces a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol after allegedly hitting a parked car, and seriously damaging both cars, said Watertown Police Sgt. Thomas Grady.
At 4:13 a.m. on Aug. 6, police received a call from a resident who believed a car had been in a serious accident on Watertown Street.
“A 2011 Hyundai Elantra was parked at 90 Watertown Street, and officers observed it had been in a major rear-end accident,” Grady said. “I responded to this call, and it appeared when it was struck it sent the car 100 feet down the street.”

Around the corner on Aldridge Road, police found a 2003 Chevy Tahoe with severe front-end damage.
“The air bags had been deployed and there was fresh blood on the air bag and center console,” Grady said.

Police officers were worried about the health of the driver, so and they tracked him down to an address on Galen Street.
They found 22-year-old Donald MacKenzie at his home, and they observed he had signs of being intoxicated, Grady said, including a strong odor of alcohol. They also found a metal container with prescription drugs inside.
Officers conducted filed sobriety tests and then placed MacKenzie under arrest.
Donald R. MacKenzie, 22, of 105 Galen St. in Watertown, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of property damage and possession of a Class E substance.
