Watertown Fire: 3 Hospitalized After Multi-Alarm Blaze

A blaze on Williams Street near Newton Corner Thursday night displaced nearly a dozen.

WATERTOWN, MA – Two firefighters and a resident of a Watertown home were hospitalized following a three-alarm fire on Williams Street on Thursday, Sept. 14. The blaze was reported at 27 Williams Street, close to Newton Corner near the Watertown border.

The firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion and the occupant was transported for burns, according to NBC Boston.

Police and fire officials asked drivers and pedestrians to avoid the area around Williams and Galen Street as firefighters worked to quell the blaze. The fire was knocked down after 8 p.m., according to the Watertown Police Department. Subscribe to Watertown Patch for more local news and alerts.

Boston 25 reported 11 people were displaced by the fire.

Fire departments from nearby communities responded, including Belmont, Cambridge, Newton and Waltham. Images of the fire on social media show flames pouring out of the top of the home.

The house is a two family home built in 1900, with four bedrooms and valued at $330,800 last by the assessors.
