Alden and Harlow Brings Back Summer Tradition with Whole Garden Dinners

WHO:

Once again, Chef Michael Scelfo and the team at Alden & Harlow are bringing back their popular Whole Garden Dinners, in partnership with some of their favorite local purveyors. Each Wednesday throughout July and August, Chef Scelfo invites guests to experience four-courses of family-style dishes featuring the produce and proteins from nearby purveyors such as Formaggio Kitchen, Feather Brook Farm, Allandale Farm, Island Creek Oysters, Siena Farms, and Sparrow Arc Farm.

WHAT:

Chef Scelfo has long been inspired by his own family tradition of backyard gardening, where he and his family grow a variety of fruits and vegetables. At home on Sunday nights, he creates a communal dinner using the ingredients from the family plot as the focus and highlight. For the past few summers, Scelfo has brought that inspiration into his restaurant kitchen, by teaming up with his friends at various local farms and purveyors to create weekly produce-centric menus that feature everything the partnering group has to offer at that time of year.

Each dinner will offer ten guests the chance to taste through four rounds of creatively prepared dishes—the highlight, of course, is that each dish is centered around an offering from the purveyor, be it vegetable, meat, cheese, or seafood. Guests will enjoy three rounds of savory fare and one sweet, with each course including three different shareable dishes, served family style. Wine pairings are also offered by General Manager, Jen Fields.
