For the past three years, each concert has featured the songs of a single composer. This year, the series changes direction with tributes to the legendary singers who made these works famous: Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole and Sarah Vaughan. This shift in emphasis allows the 6-piece band of Berklee faculty to examine the works of many lesser known composers whose output was less prolific, yet highly influential to the songwriting genre and the standard song repertoire.
