Barbara Callan-Bogia and her husband David of FL, Katherine Rotkiewicz and her husband Stanley of Natick, Richard of FL, and John and his wife Diane of NC.
He is also survived by his nephews and nieces, Eric, Ben and Amy Crosby, Paige Wickum (Jason), Sarah, Sheila and Caitlin Rotkiewicz, Zack Callan and Kelly Callan; his great-nephews and niece, Erin, Killian and Brett Crosby; and, Vickey Bethea (sister-in-law), and Quentin and Anjelica Bethea.
Born on January 5, 1947 in Watertown, Mike was a son of the late Francis “Smokey” and Regina "Jeanne" Callan.
He was also the brother of the late Elizabeth (Betty) Callan.

Mike graduated from Watertown High in 1965. He served his country honorably during the Vietnam War as a member of the 101st Airborne and was awarded the Purple Heart for his heroic efforts.
He was a Boston Police Patrolman, retiring from Area B after 27 years of distinguished service duly recognized with commendations from the Boston Police, the City of Boston City Council, and The Commonwealth of Massachusetts State Senate.
He was also a past Commander of the Millers Falls VFW Post #2827 and a member of The American Legion Post #0172.
The funeral is from the Stanton Funeral Home, 786 Mt. Auburn St. (Rt. 16) Watertown on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick’s Church, 212 Main St., Watertown at 9:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Interment MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 11:30 a.m.
