Bicyclist Injured in Accident with Van on Common Street

A bicyclist collided with the side of a van at the intersection of Common and Orchard streets, and suffered a head injury.

At about 8:06 p.m. Monday, the 32-year-old Watertown man was riding his bicycle down the Common Street hill when he struck the side of a van driven by a 40-year-old Belmont woman, as she turned from Common onto Orchard Street, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.

"He suffered head injuries, and he was taken to Beth Israel Hospital," Lawn said. "The accident is still under investigation."
