Boston Senior Home Care Hosts its 40th Anniversary Celebration - "A Taste of the Town" to Fund New Programs and Initiatives for Boston's Low-Income Elders and Disabled Individuals
Hundreds in attendance will enjoy live music, entertainment, live & silent auctions and tastings from fifteen Boston restaurants

Boston Senior Home Care (BSHC) will host its 40th Anniversary Celebration – “A Taste of the Town,” at Revere Hotel on Tuesday, November 18, 2014.
For over 40 years, Boston Senior Home Care has provided Boston’s low-income elders and disabled individuals the opportunity to live in their own home by providing care management services and programs to those who wish to remain in their own homes and communities as safely and independently as possible. BSHC will celebrate its 40 years of success with a gala, fundraiser and tastings from many of Boston’s prominent restaurants in an around-the-world setting.
“Forty years later, and Boston Senior Home Care continues to make a positive impact for elders and disabled individuals who chose to stay in the comfort of their own home rather than exploring alternatives,” said Linda George, BSHC Chief Executive Officer. “Our organization continues to make great strides, including our most recent success in expanding the Supportive Housing program throughout the neighborhoods that need it most. But it is essential we keep raising awareness and funding for BSHC so we can further develop existing programs and launch new ones to keep serving those who need it most.”

Each year, Boston Senior Home Care helps over 6,000 individuals through its various state funded programs and services. However, there are many low-income, isolated elders and disabled individuals who need support to remain at home but do not qualify for its services because they are slightly over the income requirements. Funds raised through this year’s event will be used to support those individuals as well as fund new programs and initiatives that allow low-income elders to age in place in the community.
The event will be emceed by Jenny Johnson, Co-host of NESN Dining Playbook, and Santi DeOleo, Co-host of Jam’n’ 94.5 morning show, Ramiro’s House. Guests will enjoy music and tastings from some of Boston’s sought after restaurants, along with cash bar and a live and silent auction. Confirmed participating restaurants for A Taste of the Town include Casa Romero, China Pearl, ester, Gyro City, Legal Seafood, Salvatore’s, Shojo and Society on High. Other restaurants will confirm in the following weeks. Several State and City officials, members of the BSHC Board of Directors, staff and numerous business partners who work on behalf of BSHC consumers are expected to be in attendance.
