Spring has sprung – and so has the number of family activities in and around Watertown. Here is a sampling of the many fun (and FREE) events this weekend.

Spring has sprung – and so has the number of family activities in and around Watertown. Here is a sampling of the many fun (and FREE) events this weekend:

 

  1. (4/28, 9am-12pm) @ Watertown Middle School and Moxley Field: Lots of hands-on activities for kids, live demos, games and more.
  2. Sheepshearing Festival (4/28, 10am-5pm) @ Gore Place: Sheepshearing demos, sheep herding dog demonstrations, live music, crafts, wagon rides and more.
  3. Curious George Store Grand Opening (4/28, 11am-12:30pm) @ multiple locations: Festivities begin at 11am at the Cambridge Public Library followed by a procession to the Harvard Sq store starting at 12:05, led by the Man with the Yellow Hat.
  4. Japan Spring Festival (4/29, 11am-4pm) @ Copley Square Park: Enjoy over 80 booths featuring Japanese food, games, goods and live performances by local artists.
  5. Soccer Fest 2012 (4/29, 12pm-5pm) @ New Victory Field Turf: Share your love for soccer with mini-clinics, games, food and fun. All ages welcome.
  6. Brandeis Arts Festival (4/29, 1pm-5pm) @ Brandeis University: Enjoy an afternoon of free performances, family and children events, art exhibits and demos.
