8th Grader Pens Poem to Boston
Poem dedicated to Boston Marathon From a 8th grader in Minnesota.

My name is Jackson Larson I am in 8th grade at St.Micheal-Albertville Middle School West. The Marathon has always been close to me because we had a teacher at my school that ran it and he traglicly died in Oct. 2011. I believe the best way to give back is not by donating money. It is about thinking and praying for them, this was my main drive to write this poem. I couldn't have done it without my Amazing English teacher Mrs.Brett. Thank you! God Bless!

Ode To Boston
By:Jackson Larson
Albertville, MN
April 14 was the date.
[Editor's note: the bombing happened on April 15]
It started as a joyful day.
Honoring those we lost,
All 26 of them.
As the first shot rang out.
The runners sprung out.
Group after group,
They all had one goal.
To cross the finish line, everybody knows.
There moment of glory.
To have friends and family there.
To see them cross that line.
All that was blown away.
4 hours 10 minutes was the time.
Nothing will ever be the same.
Just two booms changed everything.
The Boston Marathon forever changed.
Weeks later, we still mourn.
The loss of 3 young souls,
Over 100 more hopefully going home.
The family’s forever changed.
Our president says “feel the pain”.
But we are still looking for a claim.
For those responsible its just a game.
Until they feel the real pain.
The FBI asking for help.
Anybody, anybody know?
Who made it blow?
We don’t know.
A pressure cooker’s to blame.
For all the hurt and pain.
Still looking for leads.
From that tragic day.
The country already hurt.
From Sandy Hook Elementary.
Just a little more pain.
That the Americans have to pay.
As Americans we need to change.
Just like MJ was sayin.
So go out and be,
The Change!
