It's That Time of Year Again: Fall Gutter Cleaning (With a Twist)

Annual gutter cleaning is necessary to make sure your gutters are functioning properly as we head into the winter months... and chances are New Englanders are in for our share of storms this season.

Everyone knows the importance of annual gutter cleaning. (At least responsible home owners do.)

Annual gutter cleaning is necessary to make sure your gutters are functioning properly as we head into the winter months ... and while we were lucky with a mild winter last year, chances are New Englanders are in for our share of storms this season.

So how does gutter cleaning help? By keeping your gutters cleaned and free from debris, water melting off the roof from storms can flow freely through the system, which prevents ice dams from forming, keeps water from pooling around the foundation of your home, and can help prevent water coming into your home from leaks in the roof.

Gutters should be cleaned a minimum of twice a year, but if you can only afford to do it once, the fall is definitely the most important cleaning.

Additionally, you may be interested in a new cleaning procedure using a HEPA vac. This keeps mold, mildew, and harmful irritants away from your home, as well as keeping debris from falling into your landscaping.

No matter how you choose to clean your gutters, or who you choose to clean them, make sure not to skip them... especially this season.
