MARA 5th Endorses Michael Sullivan for US Senate

Endorsement

The Massachusetts Republican Assembly (MARA) is part of the National Federation of Republican Assemblies (NFRA) and in Massachusetts is organized by Congressional District.

The MARA 5th, representing members from the 5th Congressional district, is proud to enthusiastically and unanimously endorse Michael Sullivan for United States Senator.

MARA is dedicated to supporting conservative candidates of outstanding character who espouse the first principles upon which our nation was founded… among those (but limited to) are: Defense and respect for our Unalienable Rights -- Life, Liberty and The Pursuit of Happiness, Limited and Decentralized Government, Free Enterprise, National Sovereignty, the Individual Right to Bear Arms, and the Rule of Law. In promoting all these essential core values, Michael Sullivan has stellar record as an ardent advocate.

Sullivan, who first spent many years in the private sector, also has served both at the State and Federal level. He started his political career as State Representative from Abington. He went on to become Plymouth Country DA. In 2001 he was selected to be US. Attorney and in 2006 was appointed to the Presidential Cabinet level post as Acting Director of Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Fire Arms. In 2009 Sullivan returned to private law practice as a partner in the Boston based Ashcroft-Sullivan law firm.

Responding to a grassroots movement to draft him for US Senate, Sullivan acquiesced to returning to public service and agreed to endorse a volunteer effort to gather the necessary signatures. With only 12 days, hundreds of volunteers materialized and organized to collect close 30,000 signatures, 3 times the amount necessary. Notably, Sullivan was the only candidate that did not pay professional firms to gather signatures. Rather it was entirely a spontaneous grassroots effort. The MARA 5th members are proud to have played a significant role in this endeavor.

Sullivan clearly has gravitas and exudes statesmanship. His persona and comportment is fitting of the tradition of United Senate. He will be passionate advocate for the Constitution and interests of the citizens of our Commonwealth. Massachusetts would be well served to have such a man of character and integrity as a United States Senator.

Therefore, The Massachusetts Republican Assembly’s 5th Chapter, urge all Republicans and unenrolled voters in 5th Congressional District to vote for Michael Sullivan for US Senate, on Tuesday April 30th in the Republican Primary.
