MOTHERS’ Lilac Sunday, May 12th
Mother's Day Lilac Sunday at Arnold Arboretum and Garden Notes
The Lilacs are in full bloom at Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plain to help celebrate Mothers’ Day. This year they are especially abundant, a must see! The Lilacs should continue blooming for several more weeks.
Many of the lilacs have detailed signs describing their origins. Cultivar #12, introduced in 1987, is named “Frederick Law Olmsted” after the landscape architect who designed Arnold Arboretum in 1879.
Also included is a Graffiti Knitting by the Yahn Bomb Squad (see photo!)
