Should You Hire a Landscaper to Clean Your Gutters?

Many times home owners are uncertain who to hire to clean their
gutters. Should you go with a local handyman, a window washing company, a
landscape r... there are many choices. While landscapers, window washers and
general handymen do sometimes clean gutters, they are often not qualified to be
working on a roof, or insured to be on a ladder on your property.

What does this mean for you?

While it may seem like a good idea to ask your landscaper to simply clean out your gutters, the fact is this is an entirely different process. Simply placing a ladder against the side of your home can cause damage, and should something fall from the roof or ladder during the process, you might very well be responsible for the damages to your home or property.

Another factor to consider is that leaf blowers used in the gutter cleaning process must comply with noise control ordinances established by many towns. Often handymen or landscapers will not have these special leaf blowers as part of their regular equipment.

A qualified roofing company is your best bet for having your gutters cleaned. Not only are they insured for damages (be sure to check), while they are on the roof they can assess your home for any possible problems.
