T. Ross Kelly Family Gallery @ WFPL

Library's T. Ross Family Gallery Exhibits

Each month Watertown Free Public Library features a display of art work in its upstairs gallery. March is Women’s History Month and, in honor of International Women’s Day, March 8, the gallery is exhibiting posters from the collection of Stephen Lewis. Mr. Lewis is a long time labor movement activist and his poster collection numbers over 3300. The posters on display are from many countries, are in several languages, and celebrate the economic, political and social achievements of women the world over.

The library’s April exhibitor is Dana Garczweski. She describes her style as modern graphic with vintage touches and infusions of color and pattern. She says there is story behind each of her prints and she hopes the viewer can identify with each piece. Much of Dana’s artwork would brighten and enhance the owner’s home.

Our gallery bookings are made through Reference Department librarian Aimee Lambert. Artists interested in exhibiting may contact Aimee at   alambert@watertown-ma.gov Artists are invited to hold opening receptions in the Raya Stern Trustees Room at the end of the gallery.

While our booking schedule is filling up this Spring and next fall, there are openings in July and August. We encourage local artists to inquire. There are free standing grids to hold paintings, photography, prints and posters. The library carries publicity about monthly exhibits on its website and in its print and electronic newsletters.
