Watertown Middle School's Splash of Flavor 2013: Vote Now!

Watertown Middle School's online paper, The Watertown Splash, launches its Splash of Flavor contest! Vote now on which of the student authors dishes sounds like a winner. Voting closes 3/25/13.

In its third year, Watertown Middle School's Splash of Flavor contest is up and running for 2013! Each year, the school's online newspaper, The Watertown Splash, has their writers (who are 7th & 8th grade students) write about their favorite dish to get from a restaurant. Then it is up to the community to vote on whose dish sounds the best!

Nominees this year include The Chicken Quesedilla at Casa de Pedro which was nominated by Isaac G. because "Smoky grilled chicken with sizzling melted cheese and onions between crispy tortillas make a delicious dish." Also nominated, the Strawberry Banana Smoothy from Moozy's which Catherine P. says is "so flavorful, creamy, and smooth, and it’s a yummy and more healthful alternative to ice cream or a frappe."

There are 18 other dishes nominated, each with a passionate plea for its excellence by one of the student authors. After reading each report, the community can vote for their favorite nominee. Voting closes on March 25, 2013. Winners will be announced in an article on the Splash next week, and will each be awarded a plaque later in the year. Past winners of the contest include past winners The Talk for its chicken parm in 2011, and Dunkin Donuts (in Watertown) for the Coffee Coolatta in 2012.
