Collection Money Stolen from Watertown Church: Police

The money was to go toward supporting church parishes in the inner city.

WATERTOWN, MA – The Watertown Police Department is seeking information about a theft of collection money from a local church.

The theft was reported on Sunday at St. Patrick's Church at 212 Main St. Between 11:20 and 11:40 a.m., a person or persons entered the Sacristy Room of the church and took a bag containing the collection money from the 10 a.m. service, according to police.

Police said the collection was to go toward supporting church parishes in the inner city. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Sgt. Thomas Grady at (617) 972-6538 or tgrady@police.watertown-ma.gov.
