Copper Spouts Stolen at Commander's Mansion, Arsenal on the Charles
Thousands of dollars worth of copper spouts reported stolen.

Sections of copper downspouts, worth thousands of dollars, on the and Arsenal on the Charles buildings were reported stolen last week, Watertown police said.
On Sept. 20, a copper downspout on one of the Arsenal on the Charles officepark buildings was reported stolen, said Police Sgt. Thomas Grady. The spout, worth about $1,000, was taken between Sept. 19 and the morning of Sept. 20, Grady said.
Also on Sept. 20, a section of copper downspout was reported stolen from the side of the Commander's Mansion, on Talcott Street not far from the Arsenal on the Charles. That section of spout is estimated to be worth more than $2,000, said Grady.

Grady called copper a "hot commodity," and noted the thefts were likely done by the same person or persons because of the timeframes.
"I'd say they'd definitely be connected," Grady said.

Police are investigating.
