Couple Hones in on Fundraising Goal for Cancer Treatments, Wedding

Ester Eva Gunnarsdottir's fight against cancer is chronicled on the couple's YouTube channel.

WATERTOWN, MA – Ester Eva Gunnarsdottir is marrying her partner of 10 years this summer. Planning a wedding can be a full-time job, especially with two kids, but the couple's focus is on a far greater cause. One that can save the bride-to-be's life.

Gunnarsdottir was recently diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing both traditional chemotherapy and non-traditional treatments to deliver a one-two punch and heal her "from the inside out." The couple launched a GoFundMe campaign April 2, and in just three weeks, it's honing in on its $30,000 goal.

The money raised will help fund Gunnarsdottir's treatment, which includes testing in two locations in the United States and one in Greece, as well as the couple's August wedding.

"Our wish is to get married in August this summer (2017) so that we can celebrate how far we have come as a family and to solidify out ten year relationship as a couple," Gunnarsdottir wrote on her GoFundMe campaign. "Without each other none of this would be possible."

The couple also started a YouTube channel, Blessons From Cancer, to chronicle their day-to-day life and Gunnarsdottir's fight.
