Cunniff School Principal Leaving to Take New Job in Weston

Cynthia Crimmin is returning to a district where she worked for 13 years. District also appointed a human resources director and science curriculum coordinator.

The will be searching for a new principal after Cynthia Crimmin announced she is leaving to become a principal at Weston's Woodland Elementary School.

Crimmin is no stranger to Weston. She worked there as director of foreign langauges for 13 years, said Watertown interim Director of Human Resources Ray Shurtleff. She served as Cunniff's principal for the past two years

"We wish her well in her return to Weston and thank her for her service to the children and staff of the Watertown Public Schools," Shurtleff wrote in an announcement of Crimmin's departure.

Superintendent Jean Fitzgerald said she anticipates appointing an interim principal for the Cunniff by June 25.

New Appointments

The district has a new human resources director, with the appointment of Gayle McCracken, beginning July 1. She comes to Watertown from Randolph, where she served as the director of human resources for the public schools since 2008, Shurtleff said.

Her experience also includes other public and private sector human resource administration, including five years for the Town of Canton and the Canton Public Schools.

McCracken has a bachelor’s degree from North Adams State College and a certificate in human resources management from Bentley College, Shurtleff said.

Fitzgerald also announced the appointment of Lynsey Kraemer as the new science curriculum coordiator for grades 6 to 12, Shurtleff said. Kraemer has been a chemistry teacher at since 2005.

She has a bachelor of science degree in chemistry, Summa Cum Laude, from Binghamton University, a master's degree in teaching in secondary chemistry from Boston University, and a certificate in advanced graduate studies in education leadership from Cambridge College. In addition, Kraemer has a Massachusetts educator license as a chemistry teacher, grades 8-12 and for prinicpal/assistant principal, grades 9-12.
