Dorchester Man Caught Trying to Steal Boxes from a Truck Making a Delivery to Target
Watertown Police arrested the man after the driver caught the man trying to take the boxes.

A Dorchester man was caught redhanded trying to take boxes out of the back of a tractor-trailer making deliveries to Target in Watertown.
Michael A. Mitchell, 45, of 16 Drayton Ave. in Dorchester, faces charges of breaking and ending for a felony into a tractor-trailer, said Watertown Police Lt. Thomas Grady.
On Aug. 8 at 7:17 p.m., Mitchell was caught allegedly taking boxes of items heading to Target, Grady said.

“A tractor-trailer was in position to unload at Target, and (Mitchell) went into the back of the truck and removed items,” Grady said.
As he had a few boxes in his hands, Grady said, the driver of the truck came in and confronted Mitchell.

“He says, ‘I’m sorry,’ gives back the items and tries to walk away,” Grady said.
The truck driver got the license plate of the car in which Mitchell left and reported it to store security.
Mitchell had dropped off a couple of women at Target and came back to pick them up. By that time the police were at the store, Grady said, and they arrested Mitchell.
Target security told police Mitchell tried to take $111.26 in items, including a case of Soft Scrub cleaning product, a container of Tide laundry detergent and a box of V-8 bottles, Grady said.
