Easy as Lying: Music for Shakespeare's Birthday

Join Seven Times Salt for a musical bash in honor of William Shakespeare's
450th birthday! We'll present some of the songs he mentions by name as well as a range of works by his musical contemporaries. You'll also hear choice excerpts from his plays read by STS's finest thespians. Our program features music by Morley, Ferrabosco, Byrd, Dowland, and Robert Johnson, dances from the Elizabethan and Jacobean courts, and a saucy ballad or two. Afterwards, please enjoy a celebratory drink and some birthday cake in honor of the Bard.

Karen Burciaga - violin & treble viol
Daniel Meyers - recorders, flute & percussion
Josh Schreiber Shalem - bass viol
Matthew Wright - lute & cittern

With special guests:
Julia Cavallaro, mezzo-soprano
Michael Barrett, tenor & recorder
