Electrical Fire Guts Garage in Watertown Sunday Night
The detached garage on Sycamore Street caught fire, and fire crews battled the flames for about 45 minutes.
Electrical wiring appears to be the cause of a fire that burned a detached garage on Sycamore Street Sunday night.
The 1.5 story garage sat about 10 feet from the main house, and only 7 or 8 feet from the neighboring house, said Watertown Deputy Fire Chief Rob Iannetta.
"The residents were asleep and they were awoken by the smell of something burning," Iannetta said.

The flames appear to start at the spot where the electrical wiring attached to the garage, Iannetta said.
"The garage was pretty much totalled," Iannetta said. "But the house was not damaged."
Fire crews from Station 1 on Main Street and Station 3 on Orchard Street responded to the fire. An engine from Belmont also came to the fire, because the fire occurred in the West End of town near the Belmont line.
