In the grand tradition of the Big Band, a.k.a. the Swing Era, the concert will feature original jazz arrangements of tunes adapted from their Broadway context. This concert is the Arsenal Center for the Arts’ annual benefit featuring the music of Gershwin, Porter, Berlin, Rodgers, Kern and others in a program led by celebrated saxophonist Larry Monroe, with veteran vocalist Donna McElroy. Reception (included with ticket price) is at 6:45 with concert at 8PM.
