Chinese Cachet

Records of gardens exist in China for well over 2,000 years. Perhaps the earliest Western reference to their plants was from Marco Polo. Subsequent Western descriptions in the 16th through 18th centuries confirmed the incredible diversity of Chinese flora (35,000 species of vascular plants). During this walk, Jim Gorman will present some of the floral celebrities of China growing at Mount Auburn.
